Family Supports
The Family Development Team’s purpose is to support our families in becoming thriving homes for the children served at Dream Center Evansville.

The mission of Dream Center Evansville is to share God’s love by walking with kids from cradle to career, supporting their families, and engaging in neighborhood transformation. The Family Development Team provides support to families, which in turn helps improve the homes and living situations of children. This also contributes to the overall well-being of families in Jacobsville and enhances the neighborhood as a whole.
Once this is achieved, we can build families and homes that support the upward economic mobility envisioned by Dream Center Evansville. The Family Development Team is committed to helping our families grow in three areas: economic mobility, mental health, and generational wealth.
The Family Development Team is dedicated to improving the home lives of the children served by Dream Center Evansville. It assists families in identifying areas for growth and developing strategies to achieve their goals. The team maintains open communication and offers support, planning, goal setting, crisis intervention, and the promotion of human flourishing. Treating families with dignity by partnering with parents, honoring their strengths, and respecting their goals and interests throughout its work with their children.
FAMILY SUCCESS ADVOCATES
A key advocate and guide for families within the Jacobsville Promise Pathway. Their mission is to promote family stability, increase economic mobility, and strengthen the home environments that support children’s long-term success. The FSA will work closely with parents to enhance communications between them and DCE, and strengthen community partnerships to better connect them with resources.
MENTAL HEALTH
With the ever-growing Mental Health epidemic, the Family Development Team has started to work towards supporting families in the area as well. With a licensed mental health counselor on staff, the DCE can provide temporary mental health services and long-term referrals for children and families.
ECONOMIC MOBILITY MENTORING
The Economic Mobility Specialist’s role is to evaluate the economic standing of the families we serve. An in-house progression scale, the Bradford Progression Scale, is used to determine this standing. The results of the scale provide a clear picture of the family’s needs and categorize them into one of five categories. From here, families work with our team to create goals.
