Middle and High School Pathway

The Middle and High School Pathway supports students in building essential life skills while growing spiritually, academically, and personally. Being a part of this pathway, students strengthen their middle-grade math foundations while focusing on college and career readiness, high school completion, and future planning. The Middle and High Pathway strives to ensure students will leave high school prepared for success in college or enter the workforce with confidence.

Dream Center’s Middle and High School Pathway staff walk with students through the following programs and engagement opportunities:

Tutoring & Homework Help

Promise students have the opportunity to stay after school and receive tutoring and homework help twice a week. Dream Center staff and teachers provide one-on-one support to help students achieve academic success.

College & Career Readiness

College and career programming helps students explore post-graduation opportunities through guidance, experiences, and resources tailored to their interests and strengths. With career interest surveys, guest speakers, career visits, college tours, and hands-on activities, students gain a clear view of the many career pathways available. By building knowledge, confidence, and real-world insight, our programming equips students to make informed choices and take meaningful steps toward their long-term goals.

After School Program

An after-school program that provides a safe space for middle and high school students to grow, connect, and learn. Activities engage students in fun and creative ways that build community, fosters social and emotional growth, and expands their vision for their future. Ministry moments also provide intentional time for students to reflect, learn, and grow in their faith.

Student Success Coaching

Through the M/H Pathway, Promise students continue to receive a Student Success Coach that meets with them regularly during the school day. Coaches build and strengthen relationships with students, encouraging students toward success and advocating for them.  Student Success Coaches work one-on-one with students to establish clear, measurable goals for academic, personal, and social-emotional growth. These goals are co-created with students to foster ownership using proven goal-setting methods such as S.M.A.R.T. goals. Coaches then co-actively track progress of these goals, reviewing them regularly with the student.

Mentorship

We believe every young person deserves someone in their corner — someone who notices them, believes in them, and walks with them as they grow. A DCE Mentor is a caring, trained Christian adult who commits to being consistently present for one of our Promised students for one full year. Mentors are encouragers, listeners, and positive role models who help guide students in their personal, emotional, academic, and spiritual development. Many of our students tell us how much it means to have another trusted adult cheering them on, and mentors often see growth in confidence, decision-making, and hope for the future.
